Jacqueline Fernandez was born in Manama and raised by an ethnically diverse, multiracial family. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy have both been Malaysian. She is the younger of two siblings and has one older brother. In the 1980s, her parents fled to Bahrain because of civil war in Sri Lanka. This is why she was born and raised in the country. After finishing high school in Bahrain she won the Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue the Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. She was also a student at in the Berlitz School of Foreign Languages that helped her learn French, Arabic and Spanish. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006 and she was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. The TV show she appeared on was founded after winning the Miss Sri Lanka title. Her program, Lanka Business Report, is about Sri Lankan business. Padukone has a daughter with tennis star Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. She was a badminton player at the national championships as young teenagers, however she decided to give her sports career up in order to be a model. Padukone is from Mangalore, and her mother language is Konkani. Her family tree is rooted in Padukone village, which is located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone has retired as a world-renowned athlete in badminton, while her mother is also a travel consultant.
