Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress who hails from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic family. Jacqueline Fernandez's mother Kim and her father Elroy are both Malaysians. Her brothers are younger as well as an older sister. It was because of the war that raged in Sri Lanka that the family chose to move to Bahrain. In Australia she was enrolled in Media and Communications at University of Sydney following her graduation from Bahrain. In order to further her love of the world of languages, cultures and languages, she was enrolled at the Berlitz school of languages, where she was able to master Spanish in addition to improving French as well as Arabic. In addition, she was crowned Miss Sri Lanka 2006 for Miss Universe 2006 on March 6, 2006 and participated in Miss Universe 2006. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006 Padukone started her career on television. She hosted the show Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone is the daughter of tennis star Prakash Padukone. She was born in Bangalore and born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she played in national level badminton tournaments. She later resigned from the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her native language is Konkani. Her ancestors hail from the town of Padukone located in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. Prakash Padukone has retired as an international badminton player and her mother also works as a travel advisor.
